Making appointments in the morning can be a long process by phone as there are a number of callers waiting. Considerate service provided at all times. No complaints.

I attended today to get some travel vaccinations from the practice nurse. She was very friendly, kind, thorough and made sure I had all the information I needed. She was really gentle with the vaccinations and I didn't feel them at all! Great service, was really impressed. Staff on reception were also very friendly and helpful. I was particularly impressed that they went out of their way to help an elderly man with a query and that they seemed to know many of the patients by name.

No-one minds waiting to see the doctor. What is extremely irritating is to arrive on time, check in, be told by the system there is no delay and then be kept waiting half an hour without being seen, and no reason or apology given. The NHS rightly asks us to keep appointments so that WE don't waste resources; that courtesy should work both ways - all of us are busy. If a doctor is running late, either the check-in system should be better primed, or someone at reception could just make an announcement to that effect from time to time. That would be respectful, and would probably lower blood pressure as well.

I would like to give some feedback re my daughter who is currently studying in Berlin. She is in general a healthy young women. During the summer holidays she went to the practice with pelvic pain and frequent urination symptoms. She had tests for bladder function and was told it was normal. The pain however remained. I suggested she had her reproductive system looked at before she went back to university. She tried for 3 days in a row ringing at eight and was unable to get an appointment. Two weeks after her return to Berlin she was rushed into hospital in severe pain. She was examined for appendix problems and a burst ovarian cyst. She is now well but I have 2 concerns. 1. That it was impossible for her to make an appointment even after ringing the surgery 3 days in a row at opening time. 2. That no follow up was suggested to her after nothing was found to be wrong with her bladder. (Frequent urination and pelvic pain are symptoms listed for ovarian cysts on the NHS website.) I'd like to suggest: 1. There is some priority system in place for access to appointments for people who have been unable to make one the day before but still need one. 2. There is a more proactive discussion with patients when medical problems are not solved by initial tests. Sometimes it feels difficult to return for another appointment if you are generally in good health with chronic rather than acute symptoms.

Have been using the practice for more than 40 years. My treatment has always inspired trust and been friendly and approachable. I cannot recall an instance that has worried or annoyed me ,other than the odd times I was unable to get an appointment soon enough. It is increasingly important to me that it is a short walking distance from my home. I am concerned that patients transferring from the Brixton Water Lane Practice would have too far to travel. Nobody wants to cope with public transport feeling unwell and if they come by car that will cause parking problems. Seems to me that a new building for that practice is what is needed really. This would just be a cut to service with little benefit to patients.
